IPTV player questions
The M3U player, YouTube, PayPal, and where the files live. The step-by-step import is on the M3U player page.
Does it play YouTube?
Yes. Upload → paste a YouTube (or public MP4) URL. It appears in Videos. Free plan included. On the watch page, tap CC for captions — the YouTube control is often dead on auto-captions.
Does Deimos host my videos?
No. The website plays and does not keep a master file. The Linux app keeps files on that computer. Pro can also copy to an S3-compatible bucket you own.
How do I pay?
PayPal. The key is on the thanks page. Copy it before you close the tab, then paste it under License. A monthly key can be opened again at deimos.tv/key with the PayPal email and the profile id from the receipt. Refunds are handled from that receipt.
What does Pro cost?
$7/month, $49/year, or $129 lifetime. See pricing.
Is there a lock-in contract?
No. Monthly Pro is $7 and auto-renews until you tap Turn off auto-renew on Pro or License (or cancel in PayPal). You keep Pro until the date already paid. Yearly $49 and lifetime $129 are one-time keys — not a rolling contract.
Is Deimos a Plex alternative?
Deimos plays in the browser, and the Linux app keeps files on that computer. Plex and Jellyfin are servers you administer. The longer comparison is on the Plex and Jellyfin page.
Can I use my own S3?
Yes on Pro. The Linux app keeps files on that computer with no upload count. YouTube and web URLs stay unlimited. Pro can also copy to your S3: AWS, Wasabi, Backblaze B2, Cloudflare R2, MinIO, Storj, Filebase. Pro can scan that bucket for videos already there. Those files stay in the bucket and are not encoded.
Does it play IPTV?
Yes. Home → IPTV → Add M3U playlist. Paste an http or https M3U or M3U8 URL, or choose a file from the computer. Mark the list Live or On demand. An XMLTV URL is optional and fills the guide from tvg-id. Free: one playlist, 250 channels. Pro: unlimited playlists, up to 2,000 items, and the URL can be about 6 MB. Full steps.
Do you sell IPTV channels?
No. Deimos is the player. Import a playlist you already have the right to use: your own package, streams you produce, or videos you are allowed to play. Pirate lists are refused.
What is Gallery?
Photo slideshows on the big screen. Free: 30 photos. Pro: 80. Optional MP3 loop. Home → Gallery.
How do I upload my own files?
On the Linux app. The file stays on that computer. Free encodes 720p. Pro encodes 1080p and 720p. The website plays and does not take the master.
How are uploads encoded?
On the Linux app, one rendition at a time. H.264 and AAC. Free is 720p. Pro is 1080p and 720p when the source is already that tall. A smaller file is not scaled up. There is no 4K encode. The website does not encode.
Do you sell source code?
No. The shop sells the Linux app and the browser player. You keep your files. The public demo is ondemand.deimos.tv.
Where do Windows and Mac play?
In the browser at ondemand.deimos.tv. There is no Windows or Mac download. The Linux app is the one that keeps and encodes files.
